Kent Jeong-Eun Kim is a composer, music director, and pianist based in New York City, originally from South Korea. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, where she wrote her full-length musical Out With a Bang.
As a composer, Kent's work includes the mini-opera Petronilla, which was performed by both NYU’s Steinhardt Opera Program and the University of Oklahoma Opera Program. She has also contributed music direction to several Off-Broadway productions, including Frankenstein (2018–2020), It Came From Beyond, Swing! The Musical, and Teen Party Massacre.
Kent is passionate about performing and has appeared in cabarets and theatre productions across New York City. Some of her performance highlights include Icon with Broadway legend Donna McKechnie, Love in Stop Motion at The Duplex, and various productions at Manhattan Repertory Theatre.
In addition to her work in theatre, Kent has also contributed to the choral music world, including a recording project with the Wonju Chamber Choir (Wonju Ladies Singers) under the direction of Maestro Nam Gyu Jung.
